The Single Fronted Cottage

The Single Fronted Cottage

Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that I've been a little excited by the purchase of our very own little 'city pad'.

We used to own an apartment at North Adelaide before children but sold that to be mortgage free whilst raising little boys!

It's always been a dream of our to have a little single fronted cottage close to the city. We've always kept our eye on the market and had been waiting for the right property to come up.

We toyed with the idea of new of more modern properties, but that's just not us!

The boys scooting around the area with little mate Zander who lives one street away! Perfect!

We missed out on a few I had my heart set on but this one is now ours. It's TINY but in a fabulous location, less than a km to the city, close to beautiful shops and restaurants.

I look forward to sharing our transformation with you! Any guesses what colour I am painting the maroon?

Back to School

Well off they went this morning, neither of them too happy about it!

I wouldn't be either if I was 6 & 8 years old and had had their summer.

Beautiful Berry Bay

Beaches, skiing, surfing, tubing, kneeboarding, swimming, snorkelling and motorbike riding.
All right here in our own back yard on the Yorke Peninsula too!

Ollie's first ski of the summer at Black Point

Another amazing day at Black Point

Tommy at Balgowan

The cousins on cousin Bruce's on farm track

I was very sad to see them go. They are so lucky to have each other and have had the best time together this summer.

I will however embrace the return of routine!

A Garden Update

Yet again sorry for the absence.

Those who follow me on Instagram will know I've been busy entertaining my lads at the beach during the school holidays. We have had so much fun!

A few of you have emailed me asking for an update of the garden. So here it is...............

The back garden which I have been focused on keeping alive during the heatwaves here in SA.

Looking out to the front paddock during Harvest

The back garden during spring

Repeat plantings of aggies, lavender, irises and rosemary throughout the garden.

The footy & cricket lawn to the North of the house

The footy lawn 2006

Pierre's from my garden- best year of these yet! :)

Looking towards the formal rose garden

More aggies which are all now yellow and crisp after the 40 degree days.
When frustrated and impatient its good to reflect on where we started.

Enjoying the back garden

The back hedge - 6 years old & finally getting there!
A reminder of the before! Look at those tiny box hedges.

Looking up the driveway. We have since planted Cleveland Pears each side all the way to the road.

The reason for  having these doors. Beautiful afternoons like this one, looking out to the garden.

 Harvey outside the front door.

A few exciting plans for the garden in 2014 including a garden pavilion behind the back lawn.

Look forward to sharing the plans soon.
