Tree Lined Driveways

image via atlanta homes mag
This post is for my new friend Jo, who made me explore this possibility again!

An entrance says so much about what lies ahead. Beautiful gates, trees, fencing and gravel ........

We nearly planted London Plane Trees up our driveway when we first moved in but due to needing to move one of the paddock fences put it on hold and concentrated instead on the garden immediately around the house.

I think the time has come to move that fence and plant away!

What tree would you plant?

Silver Birch or Wisteria would be nice

Silver Birch Teesh. I do also have a soft spot for Jacarandas but they don't have the "formal" feel to them.

What a beautiful driveway, we planted ornamental pear trees down our drive, they have a white blossom. They are still smallish, we lost a few because I didnt turn the rideon mower quick enough. All good now.x

I would love to one day own a house with a long driveway edged with beautiful trees - something that blossoms in Spring would be best and maybe with branches that would eventually spread right across the driveway. For now, i'll just keep dreaming!

Will linden trees grow where you are (tilia?). They are beautiful, and the scent is amazing - and you can make tea from the blossom.

Manchurian pear trees are beautiful and have a lovely blossom. I would love a long driveway like this. Good luck with your decision. Leahx

Resin Drive prove cheap as they can easily be applied to any existing tarmac and they require less maintenance than other driveways! They seem impressive in look and are a cost-effective choice!
